Third, the author sets arbitrary rules and states them as facts that must be obeyed or else! For example, she gives info on vision boards and insists that overlapping images is a huge no-no because one time her friend had a bad result because of it.

Oh, also Doctor Malcolm - our stalwart yet conflicted supposed-to-be sympathetic everyman - has a fight with anti-vivisectionists who are portrayed as silly and stupid and he’s obviously in the right to perform vivisections. This is incredibly gross and awful. Yeah, I know it was written in the 1940s, I just think it’s funny for something that puffs itself up to such ridiculous degrees about “enlightenment” to turn around and support torturing animals.

You guys, I love herbs. I love learning about the different uses and what they can do for us. This summer I actually did a full moon spell with my best friend. There are magic cults that belong to specific LGBTQI groups, nowadays, who come together as outsiders or refugees from mainstream religion, seeking enlightenment and empowerment through their own rites and rituals. I am not a practitioner. I light a candle on the Sabbaths and I try to do no harm, but I do not practice rituals or magic. That said, I want to know a lot about it, and maybe someday start to practice. Right now, I can't prioritize spirituality over my health, but maybe someday. That is why I bought this book. The book and recordings lead us through a series of Transmutational Meditations for personal growth. They are aimed at overcoming Anxiety, quieting the chattering mind, and building focus you need for magical workings. The Yin phases encourage us to meditate inward, healing and strengthening the skill of intense focus. In the Yang phase we turn our energy out ward as we impress our will on our reality, manifesting our desires.

This book would actually be a great introduction to magic in general, if read in tandem with other, similar works. You might be surprised by that, since the topic is so specific (the Moon). An entire section of this book is dedicated to harnessing the moons magic for positive in your life. From the individual days of the week to the moon phases this book outlines the process for access this natural energy for medical, spiritual and mundane procedures. You can even document your progress by using a worksheet or create a vision board to help manifest your magical intentions. As we reach the Full moon, our intentions from the New moon come to fruition. Here we harvest the lessons, rewards, and outcomes we set. At the full moon, the apex of yang, we have the opportunity to execute powerful magic to create change inward or outward. This phase starts seven days after the Full Moon and lasts for three days. Let the energy of this moon quietly finish your removal processes and cleanses. Close any pending issues and quietly renew your inner energies. The names of the chapters seemed interesting, but it turned out some of those chapters were just a couple of paragraphs long. I think the concept of applying biodynamics to everyday life is an interesting one, but most of this material is extremely superficial. Some of the things described here are worthy practices (like gratefulness), but, strictly speaking (or even not that strictly), have no connection to the Moon. For instance, the author says that she shakes her hands after meeting an energy vampire as if to shake off their negative energy; this is concluded by: "call it a Moon shake"; why?

Unfortunately, Kane tends to push neoWiccan ethics fairly hard. References to “do no harm, “an it harm none,” and the notion of karma show up in the book occasionally. At one point, Kane suggests that witchcraft has “no rules” besides “do no harm,” and even if you remove the latter part of that statement, it’s debatable how true it is. Cultural Appropriation (CA): The author recommends a smudging ritual (not the Medicine, but the usual smoke cleansing variant), and never even mentions the Romani while discussing the history of tarot. The story keeps going over the same ground. Dr Malcolm goes to work where he is gruff and fiery to everyone. Dr Malcolm visits Le Fay and feels better afterwards. If someone is a newbie to thinking about how to harness the brilliance of the moon for their spiritual journey, this isn't a bad place to start. It does go through the various phases and explains supermoons and mini moons. There are a bunch of recipes that have made up moon names. Could be fun if you're deciding to throw a party around the moon. Rachel also details how the moon is related to the Triple Goddess and includes a guided meditation for you to follow, she does this also for the Moon Dieties chapter where she shares short insightful information on some of the goddesses one may choose to work with.if you're looking for spells using herbs, oils, candles, crystals, etc...some of that is here. but if you like using someone else's words to focus your intentions or like to use little mantras and affirmations, this is definitely your book. most of the "spells" are just things to say and don't go too much into prep, opening/closing, centering, etc. so again, if that's your thing, this is your book. The information about all the above is very conversation, easy to read, and simplistic in it’s description, making it accessible for all readers who are interested in learning more about the moon. Moon Magic" by Aurora Kane is a wonderful reference book to use when working with the moon phases. In this book you will find many useful ways to include essential oils, crystals, tarot, the zodiac, and herbs into your moon rituals. Each has its own reference chart and some include spells and affirmations to use during each of the moon phase.

The Little Book of Moon Magic: Working with the power of the

Without spoiling too much, here’s some of the great information that is included within the collection: There are in depth chapters that focus on each of the moon phases; waxing, waning, full and new. However it also details how the waxing and waning gibbous moons can be worked with effectively, something I haven't seen in any pagan book that I have read.Look deep within for the energies and inspirations of your wealth, your wealth of knowledge, understanding, financial wealth. Understand this is a time of renewal and stillness. Dark Moon:
